Callanish Stones - Isle of Lewis, Scotland 2000
Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides, Scotland
o the Callanish Stones are a unique setting of standing stones erected around 2000 BC. The centre circle contains the tallest of all (4.75m/15 ft 6 in) with three single rows of stones to the east, south and west, and a double row to the north. An aerial view reveals it's shape of the Celtic cross. One of the most spectacular megalithic monuments in Scotland and a personal favourite in the British Isles.
