"When I accept an assignment, I look for ways to encourage my client's dreams to come into fruition. I'm well known amongst those I work with for my ability to capture the true essence of a person and communicate ideas and feelings through my art. A common thread that my clients experience is one of liberation from limiting beliefs as a result of seeing the true self in the moment and not the distorted perception of the self we see reflected back in the bathroom mirror."
Working creatively to capture the true spirit of her subjects, Samjhana's clients can expect far more than a photographic experience. Samjhana offers bespoke portrait sessions in remarkable locations that have the potential to inspire new direction.
Currently based in London, Samjhana continues to focus on private portrait sessions. She has a particular interest in working creatively with professionals and artists within the natural health and well-being sector producing images to support their passion and promote their brand. In addition, she works with life-coaches and therapists, integrating mini-portrait sessions into their retreats and workshops as a supportive tool to complement their teachings.
Samjhana's Passion
"I believe there is a hidden light inside every man and woman and as a photographer it is my desire to unveil this light. I love photographing people and WOWing them with images that capture the imagination and build their confidence. Making a connection with my clients by understanding their direction and nurturing their creativity is a key element to my success as a portrait photographer."
Born and raised in multi-cultural West London, Samjhana was a xenophile long before she knew the meaning of the word. Inspired by the photography of her Grandfather and Great Grandfather she discovered found her passion at an early age. Developing and furthering her interest in studio portraiture in her teens, she began exploring rural areas and discovered her great love for wilderness.
As a spirited traveller, Samjhana Moon has travelled independently around the world and continues to be enchanted by human expression, cultural variety and the endless diversity of terrain across the globe. Creating visual accounts of her journey through life, Samjhana frames both intuitively and from the heart.
“My adventurous spirit and philosophy has taken me on long excursions away from the pressures of modern living enabling me to connect deeply with inspiring people and places. It is my hope that the beauty and diversity of this planet and its people shine through in my images, evoking compassion within the viewer and inspiring them to rediscover their own connection with nature”
Today Samjhana is enthusiastic about supporting existing women’s groups, charities and organisations into helping women who have suffered some form of trauma (through illness, abuse or environmental disaster) to regain their confidence through holistic portrait sessions.
Born from her desire to restore the balance of the divine feminine within society, Samjhana created Goddess Portraiture in 2009 after many years travelling overseas. She noticed immediately the need to heal the relationship women had with themselves and this vital connection with nature. Samjhana’s work in this area demonstrates how women can gain a greater appreciation of their own sexuality, along with renewed confidence, motivation and healing."Observing acts of kindness in every moment with a positive mind, voice and heart, I hope to bring light and love to those around me and advise of natural alternatives to yield a healthy harmonious future for our children."
“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, it is loaned to us by our children.” Native American Proverb
